Rosemary and Thyme opened its doors in the spring of 2010 with the idea of creating a small intimate  European style  bakery / cafe with an empasis of providing our customers with  fresh baked goods, soups, salads, and artisan sandwiches, scratch made in small batches to ensure freshness and quaility. All left over product is donated to our local food bank

Chef / Owners : Matt and Anna Tscheulin met and married in Newport, R.I. Matthew is from a restaurant family and started as a dishwasher at the age of 16, eventually working his way up to a line chef  at both Brocks tavern, and Victoria's Station. After leaving the culinary field to pursue a career as a self employed furniture / cabinetmaker he returned to cooking in 2008 , owning a small restaurant, before opening Rosemary & Thyme.
Anna was born and raised in the small village of Langenberg Germany, and moved to Newport at the age of 19. She started baking  as a young girl in her mothers kitchen , and brings with her old world recipes and techinques, to create delicious European style baked goods. After graduating from Providence College, Anna's love of people guided her to a path in social work. She worked as a program coordinator for Newport County Mental Health for over 12 years before joining Rosemary & Thyme full time
